Introduction

Just across the road and down the hill from the school we find our church - St Peter's Weston Favell situated in the heart of Weston Favell village but also serving the communities of Westone, Headlands and Abington Vale.

The Rector, Canon Beverley Hollins writes:

The relationship between the church and the school is one that we treasure.

We all have hopes and dreams for the future, it is human to look forward and wonder what the years ahead might hold. At St Peter's we are committed to helping children prepare for that future, whatever it might bring. Children were very important to Jesus, he saw in them something very special. We seek to take children seriously by giving them the opportunity to have fun together and to enjoy teaching appropriate for their age.

We are committed to welcoming children and their families to learn and worship together with other members of our community.

Regular services

We have a range of services throughout the week but perhaps the most attractive one for families would be the 4 ’clock service on Sundays. Starting with refreshments it has informal worship including separate primary school age activities and first and third Sundays. Second Sunday includes an informal Holy Communion, and fourth Sunday is Wild Worship, often outside.

Other services include:

Weekdays

Morning prayer on Facebook most weekdays and in church on Mondays

Holy Communion 10am Wednesdays

Sundays

8am Holy Communion a formal said service

10am Choral Communion (also available on YouTube, live streamed and recorded)

6pm look out for occasional special services

Opportunities for children and youth

Tiny Tots

On Wednesdays in term time from 1.30 until 3pm our Tiny Tots group, for pre-school children and their carers, meets in the Church Hall. We offer a story, singing, crafts, plenty of time to play and good company. In warmer weather we meet outside on Peter's Patch.

Seekers

Activities and teaching for children in Reception and years 1 and 2 are part of our 4 O'Clock Service on the first and third Sundays. Enjoy the fun of the service and head to the Seekers Group in the Crispin Chapel for activities and a chance to learn together.

Seekers Plus

Years 3 to 6 also meet during the 4 O'Clock Service on first and third Sundays. Contributing and learning together, having fun and creating prayer to share, in the Vestry.

Youth Café

Young people of secondary age are invited to the Hervey Room in the Church Hall on first and third Sundays. 6.30 to 8pm. Games and bible studies, topical discussions and chill time together are all on the menu, along with anything else the members might request. And food!
