Welcome to Weston Favell CE Primary School
A message from the Headteacher
It is a great privilege to welcome you to Weston Favell Church of England Primary School. I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of such a warm, happy and vibrant school, where children are encouraged to flourish, achieve their potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Weston Favell is a caring and ambitious school, judged Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in February 2025. At the heart of our school is our Christian vision:
'Jesus said, ‘I came to give life – life in all its fullness.' John 10:10
These words inspire us to ensure that every child has the opportunity to live, learn and grow in the fullness of life that God intends for them.
As a Church of England school, our Christian foundation is deeply rooted in God and in our community through the Ekins family, our founders. Their purpose continues to shape who we are today: to welcome, nurture and enable all to flourish, recognising and celebrating every individual as uniquely created and gifted.
The parable of The Mustard Seed provides a powerful foundation for our vision. Just as the tiny mustard seed has the potential to grow into something much greater, we believe that every child has God-given potential. Our role is to nurture that potential, helping children to grow in wisdom, hope and faith, discover their unique gifts, flourish as individuals and learn to live well together as compassionate and courageous members of God’s world.
‘Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their lives.’ Proverbs 22:6
We believe passionately that an excellent teacher for every child is central to achieving this. Through continually high expectations, an ambitious and relevant curriculum, and a wealth of enriching experiences, we encourage children to become not only confident and capable learners, but unique individuals who are interested and interesting.
Our distinctive Christian vision is woven through every aspect of school life. We encourage our children to have the courage to voice their opinions, to act justly and to make a positive difference through social action. They learn to care for our environment and to respect others at a local, national and global level. Through our curriculum and wider experiences, children develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, while gaining a deep appreciation of the diversity and richness of our world.
We want our children to leave us equipped not simply with knowledge and skills, but with wisdom, compassion, resilience, courage and hope. We want them to understand that they have a voice, that their actions matter and that they have a part to play in making our world a better place.
Our partnership with parents and families is fundamental to this work. We greatly value the contribution that parents make to their children's education and believe that children flourish most when school and home work together in a spirit of trust, encouragement and shared purpose.
Since 2012, Weston Favell has worked in partnership with Northampton Primary Academy Trust (NPAT). This successful partnership has provided our children with extraordinary opportunities to broaden their experiences, develop their sense of self and build confidence in their own abilities.
We are also proud of our strong Christian foundation and our ‘Excellent’ Section 48 SIAMS inspection in 2021. As we continue our journey, we remain committed to ensuring that our vision is lived out authentically every day—in our classrooms, our relationships, our worship, our curriculum and the way we serve our community.
I hope that through exploring our website you will gain a sense of what makes Weston Favell such a special place to learn and grow. Whether you are a parent, pupil, member of our community or simply a friend of the school, you are very welcome.
Together, we are living life in all its fullness.
