Community

We enjoy healthy links with our local community. As mentioned above St. Peter’s Church plays an important role in the life of our school but we also have regular visits from other church groups who lead assemblies and work with small groups of children to develop social skills.

Throughout the year we regularly visit St John’s Home where we sing and share the work we have done in school. Annually, we celebrate Harvest and Christmas with the residents and near to May Day the children dance on the lawn of St. John’s. We enjoy close links with our NPAT partnership schools, as well as schools located near to us. cross school activities include sports, music and drama events and festivals.

Charity

We value the benefits which charity work brings not only to others but also to ourselves. Children have thoroughly enjoyed raising money through a wide range of fun activities. In recent years at Harvest time we have supported the ‘Food Bank’, a Northampton based charity which gives away free emergency food to people in crisis.

For a number of years we have also supported ‘Children United’ a charity based in Kettering which works with a congregation of Sisters in India, helping them to build and run schools, orphanages, children's hostels and crèches. I recent years we have forged links with Northampton’s wheelchair basketball club. We had great fun raising money for the club and in return our Key Stage Two children took part in a wheelchair slalom, Year 6 even played wheelchair basketball at a local secondary school. We are very much looking forward to continuing our links with the club as we move into 2014.
